Welcome to Cascadia Commons. We, the members of Cascadia Commons, hereby form this friendly-society dedicated to promoting the general welfare of the Cascadian Bioregion, its diverse inhabitants, and the Earth that sustains us all. What is a Commons? Commons [kom-uh ns] /ˈkɒm ənz/, noun. - belonging equally to, or shared alike by, two or more or all in question: common property; common interests.
- pertaining or belonging equally to an entire community, nation, or culture; public: a common language or history; a common water-supply system.
- a tract of land owned or used jointly by the residents of a community, usually a central square or park in a city or town.
- joint; united: a common defense.
- the community, the public or the common people.
Cascadia Commons is a transorganizational friendly-society, whereby its members consist of businesses, charitable organizations, and individuals dedicated to bioregional sustainability, and is formed and established upon a plan for the mutual assurance of its members, as well as to the benefit of all Cascadians. This social forum is dedicated to fostering the necessary partnerships that produce community-generating social dynamics and equity; to give rise to bioregional sustainability and ensure the resilience of the inhabitants of the great Pacific Northwest.
